Show Your School Spirit!!!

Hi all!  Happy Homecoming! As we move towards the end of the quarter please continue making an effort to stay focused on your work.  As an additional push I am offering an extra credit option for Spirit Week ! YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS BY FRIDAY OCTOBER 17! 

I am so proud of those of you who are trying your best to read better, write better, be curious and successful! Stay focused and on track towards a better YOU! Here is your extra credit question.  Complete this for 10 points (or replacing a missing assignment):

Post a quote about having school spirit.  Why is having pride in your school important?

Make sure you are checking Student Portal so that you know your updated grade.  More grades will be updated this week, so you might see some drastic changes. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Division TOMORROW after 1st period!

CHECK YOUR GRADES AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!!! You can always raise your grade by going to lunch tutoring or Scholar Hour. See me for more details and a pass. Then, I will send you down during lunch or after school.

“Prepare for Spirit Week!  (10/14  -10/17)

Next week we will show our Hancock pride leading up to homecoming on Friday, October 17th.

Tuesday the 14th:  Jersey Day (so wear your favorite sports jersey)

Wednesday the 15th: Pajama Day (so roll out of bed and head to school; don’t forget to shower)

Thursday the 16th: Twin Day (so grab your friends and/or teachers to dress alike).

Friday Homecoming: Hancock Pride day (so wear your club shirts, Hancock jerseys, and any other exciting grey and maroon apparel).

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.

    it is important to have school spirit. Because if you go to a school, why would go for a other school like for example, i go to hancock (no duhh right lol) im not going to go for curie. GOOOO EAGLESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

    Having pride in your school and interact with your classmate and to learn new things about other people and the school. having school spirit to also express your self with the school.

    School spirit is Important because You have to rep the school you are in, and you have to show your love towards it. Like showing love towards it showing you love your school.

    have school pride is super important because you show and you want everyone to know you go to hancock plus that hancock is like ur second home
