Hello all! Today went by SO quickly as you will notice ALL FLEX Fridays will. Even though I was only with you for a little, we still got a lot done! As we begin week 4, we will delve deeper into our Unit. We are all continuing to learn a little something about our choices and how they affect us! Keep up the good work, my little darlings, and make good choices, as you work hard to achieve your goals! With that said, please make sure you are checking Student Portal. Grades were updated this weekend and are current! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Homework ENG I

1st Period/ Block: Complete the Double Entry Journal for Ch. 4 and 5 that we started in class. Read Chapter 5 of PTI. 

Text: ___Chapter 5___

Focus Question: _How does Junior’s environment affect his expectations of himself? 

Textual Evidence: Write down quotes from the text that support your answer. Interpretation: Explain how the quote answers the question.







 3rd, 4th and 8th Period/ Block:

Read Ch.2-3 and Complete the Double Entry Journal for Chapters 2 and 3 (worksheets that were passed out at the end of class).

Homework ENG II

Reread Scarlet Ibis.


CHECK YOUR GRADES AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!!! You can always raise your grade by going to lunch tutoring or Scholar Hour. See me for more details and a pass. Then, I will send you down during lunch or after school.

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.
