Tenacious Thursday :)

Hello all! I want you guys to show some tenacity as we finish this week of school. Week 3 is almost over and it seems that as we work our way through Unit 1, we are all learning a little something about our choices and how they affect us! Be tenacious dear students, and make good choices, as you work hard to achieve your goals! With that said, please make sure you are checking Student Portal. Grades were updated this weekend and are current! Please let me know if you have any questions!

1st Block: Complete the Double Entry Journal for Ch. 2 of Part Time Indian. Read Chapter 3 of PTI.

Textual Evidence: Write down quotes from the text that support your answer. Interpretation: Explain how the quote answers the question.










3,4 and 8 Block: Read Chapter 1 of Part Time Indian. Don’t forget to bring your photo of Native American Culture. Complete your prediction if you haven’t done so.

Homework ENG II-Read the first page of “Scarlet Ibis”  by Jame Hurst. Complete the metacognitve journal. Find at least 2 more important details!

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.
