Transformation Tuesday… 13 days and Counting :)

Alright you know the deal… if you comment on the blog in regards to the daily heading, I will give you e.c. so here we go. Also, if you look under your grade level, there are some other options for E.C. Take advantage of the opportunities!  Please comment below-

For Transformation Tuesday, please comment or share, the best transformation in a book or a movie. For example, Eliza Doolittle in The Pygmalion. I’m sure everyone just cringed, but she was one of the first characters to go from the poor street girl to the wealthy, well bread beauty. She paved the way for movies like Pretty Woman, She’s All That, Mean Girls, Spider Man and even Beauty and the Beast (of course in regards to the Beast).   Now,  it’s your turn!!!

As we reach the END, please keep working diligently towards our end of the year goals! Please see me if there are any assignments you are missing or grades that you feel need improvement. Continue the hard work as we reach the final stretch towards SUMMER.

About jvpilar

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.

I believe in my opinion that the best transformation was In the book, “By The Time You Read This I’ll Be Dead” The main character was a suicidal teenager who would go on this website and like read about ways to kill herself and she even had a count down for it. There was this one guy who like talked to her everyday although she shouldn’t talk at all due to her past suicide attempt where she tried drinking ammonia i think it was who then made her realize she was worth something and that she should believe it and i was unable to can. Like i can’t. It was the most cutest thing ever how a suicidal girl can turn to a happy person who looks forward to living her life with the help of a Qt 3.14 cx. :3

Extra Extra Credit cx- Jem from TKAM went though a transformation where in the beginning of the book he would be a little rascal with Scout and after the whole trial and he looked up to his father as well and saw him as a role model. He was taught how to be fair and how to respect things equally. When Scout was going to mush the roolypooly he stopped her cause he realized that was not fair and the roolypooly was innocent. If he didn’t know better he would have let her but he did and i thought that was very rad of him :3

The best transformation I’ve seen in a book is probably Cinderella . I think that that book has been carried on and changed in so many ways by different author but still continued to keep the real meaning of the story in them. It has also become a really successful story that has even been made into A lot of movies.

In the book My Bloody Life by Reymundo Sanchez he is a poor immigrant living in Chicago’s Humboldt Park in the 60’s and 70’s. He turns into a gangbanger and has to struggle with drug addictions and violence. He is a very a violent person, but by the end his friend’s 12 year old son is shot in front of him and dies in his arms. He changes from violent to emotional.

Wolf on wall street how he was broke now he is rich but in the end he loses everything again so does that count of having two transformations

Best transformation is when Katniss Everdeen goes from hunting for food and poverty to fancy dresses and gourmet meals.

  6. Melissa Barrera

From Prada to Nada. She goes from being a stuck up rich girl to a more grateful and humble girl because she realizes that money isn’t everything.

in the beginning of the book tkam jem was a trouble maker an as the book went on he became a responsible an well mannered young man. my favorite transformation was in this movie called dragon ball z. in this movie a young man named goku over comes all to protect his loved ones by transforming into a blonde super human.

  8. Julia Rivas

I think the best transformation is when Barack Obama went from being senator to the United States president.

  9. Carlos Hernandez

I think “The Great Gatsby” and “The wolf of Wall Street” as both main roles played by Leonardo DiCaprio depict a wonderful transformation as both movies talk about being poor to having so much money. Specially how DiCaprio plays the roles.

  10. Maranda Enriquez

The best transformation I’ve seen is actually from a movie based on a true story. In the movie (and real life) Selena , she went from being poor and barely making it to a role model every young girl could look up to in the Latin community
