For Thoughtful Thursday, post a quote from a book or movie that really made you think! Maybe it was a phrase that now you tell everyone, but it is something that stuck with you making you ponder life and the way you do things. For example, this summer I read The Perks of Being A Wallflower and when the narrator Charlie said, “You accept the love you think you deserve,” I just about stopped breathing.  How incredibly true!  If we all  realized that we deserve the best and ONLY accepted that, can you imagine how wonderful our lives would be.  If we just purged ourselves of people and the things that hold us back because we are waiting for it to turn into something we hope is deserving of us, but is really not, just think about how different your life would be.  Aw.. love it… also, my 2 favorite poems make me think, think, think!!! You can tell me what you think and I’ll give you e.c. but they always made me think. Ok, comment or share, it’s your turn!!!

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.
