Wake Up Wednesday!

Wow so much snow!!! I know it’s hard to get here when the snow is up to your waist like it was for me, but we still have work to do!  So keep that in mind as we continue to work towards our goals and achieve academic success.

Also remember, we are starting from scratch. Grades will fluctuate A LOT as more assignment are added to the grades, so keep that great start going by completing assignments, reading ahead, and staying focused on your goals! See you tomorrow!!!

Make sure you have read to page 225-236 of Zeitoun.
Complete the reading and finish the Generalizations Worksheet. There is a link to this worksheet in case you weren’t here today. (I will collect this TOMORROW)Making Generalizations and Drawing Conclusions Practice

Don’t forget to see me if you need to finish your Part 3 QUIZ! Be prepared!

Finish the DRAFT of your memoir (I will check this in tomorrow). Think about the types of strategies we discussed in class when we looked at the models.  How will you hook your reader?  How does your dialogue advance the plot? Be ready for Writer’s Workshop tomorrow! WE WILL PEER EDIT! Please be prepared!!!

About jvpilar

Here's a little info about your teacher. I worked really hard to become your teacher. I went to UIC to get a degree in English, but decided to work as a writer in California. While I was there I realized I would rather work with kids than work in an office all day, so I decided to come back to Chicago and become a licensed, fully certified teacher. I earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and got my first job at Hancock. During my 4 years at Hancock, I have taught English at every grade level. I started the Culinary Club and also sponsor BuildOn, both clubs do community service projects all over the city. I also have a cat named Duke that I rescued during one of our BuildOn service learning projects and a dog named Duchess.
